Last full day

Our last dinner on the East Coast

The most stained glass in one building

Today was the last day we are living in the East Coast. We drove down to Harvard bright and early and met up with the Session 2 group. Then we drove back to the hotel to get ready to go out to dinner at Mill's Tavern.

We left the hotel really early today to go to Harvard and Stephanie and I rode with Mr. Ramsey and Ms. Kronenberg in the Toyota Camry. On the way there, Mr. Ramsey gave us some insight as to why pre-law may not be as important as I originally thought. He shined light on what I used to think about it, and now, that is not a factor for me anymore. This has given me the chance to know more about the importance of whether a school has a pre-law program. With the hour and a half ride, we never ran out of things to talk about. Once we got there, we had some problems with the GPS so it was a good thing Mr. Ramsey knew where to go because his brother went to Harvard.

Once we had arrived we bought breakfast, we ran to the information session where it was set up so that three Harvard students would discuss life as a Harvard students while throwing in some information on the admissions. Some things they brought out were the house rivalries and all the different types of classes. One thing that stuck out for me was this system that they call shopping week. What this is, is they make it so that students have the freedom to go into classes and preview them so that when they have to choose, they can make an informed decision.

Next was the campus tour. It was very nice with all the buildings appearing as if they came from the same century. They looked like they were built hundreds of years ago, and many of them were!

On the way home, it was raining very hard. I think that is a prime example of the New England weather. It even got to the point where the traction control had to be switched on. After the long ride, we finally got home safe with legs asleep.

Later that evening was the dinner at Mills Tavern. The restaurant was very good and I had a very large steak. I sat next to Megan and Stephanie and across from Selene and Lydia. We had a lot of fun and exchanged stories. Session 1 gave some advise, but we never gave away any surprises. By the looks of it, Session 2 will have a lot of fun and I wish them the best of luck in their class!

  1. Andrew,

Thanks for sharing the photos. You know how I like photos.

Harvard looked crowded. I understand that when classes are in session there will be a lot of people around but I'm not used to seeing photos from these sight seeing tours with quite so many people milling about.

It concerns me, Andrew that for so many bright people, chaperones and administrators alike, we don't seem to know where we're going. I like planning my routes ahead. When I go somewhere I've never been I bring lots of maps. I bring AAA maps, Yahoo maps, Google Earth maps and as a last resort I use the GPS device.

Maybe it's because I've gotten lost so many times in an earlier life that I've decided that I like to get to a place without worries.
