The Brown dinner at Jardiniere's Thursday night was fabulous! I had fun seeing all my fellow "brownies" again as well as our supporters. It's a wonderful idea putting different types of members in this big ILC family together. I enjoyed talking to the Brown alumnies and was able to learn about their experiences at Brown and life there. I have been very nervous about going to such a prominent school with other competitive students, but after hearing about one alumni's accomplishments at Brown, I was inspired. Maybe students from other backgrounds are better prepared for college than others, but hard work and organization will also reward one with success.
The food at the restaurant was magnificent and the speeches from Megan and Irene were great. Thanks to all the supporters again, especially Mr.Ramsey, Mrs.Kronenbrg and Don for your dedications and contributions to ILC. Without you, we would never get such a wonderful opportunity to participate in this awesome event and to even get to know more about Brown University.

ReplyDeleteYou are very talented and committed. You will do well in life, you just have to have confidence in your abilities. When one is focused and works hard positive things happen for them. It is only when one fails to concentrate and listen does it result in horrible things happening in their live.
The Ivy League Connection is a joint project between school district administrators, sponsors and students. It is the willingness of students and parents to work cooperatively with those who have the knowledge and the experience in putting students in a position to succeed.
Students will succeed if they just assume that we know what we are doing and to not "second guess" our actions. Please take the time to read the blog entries from past participants. You will learn a great deal about what to expect from the summer.
Hope all else is well and continue to work hard at De Anza High School.
