Food and Fun

Today's dinner was simply amazing. I could not have been any happier. All around me were people who were extremely friendly as well as very excited. Having a big dinner with everyone involved in the ILC, the school district and the Brown alumni made it very memorable for me. I finally got to meet Mariana Zavala and her mother as well as Antonio Medrano and Jose Vilar; all of these people were kind and just as excited as I was.

The presentations went very well although at times it was difficult to hear everything that the speaker was trying to say. It became a difficult task to really pay attention. Thankfully, I got to hear many things, including Irene's and Megan's speeches (which were really awesome!) and also the Brown alumni. It proceeded through the night very smoothly and very quickly I would say. Most importantly, it was a wonderful night.

Overall, I can say that this night has made me open my eyes to the many opportunities I have right at my doorstep. Of course, these possibilities would not be here if it weren't for great people like Mr. Ramsey (who taught me a valuable lesson today, I might add), the rest of the school board and everyone else who puts in their time and effort into our education and our development.

Again, I can't wait to visit Brown! It's just around the corner! I'm glad to be part of the WCCUSD, my community and my school.

  1. Thank you, Lupe! It was hard to start off the speech but I got more comfortable as I went along.

  2. Your welcome. I could tell that as you went along with your speech, you grew more comfortable and it really showed. You were really awesome!

  3. I agree. The energy was electric in the room. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and have a great time. Everyone looked great and I could see that people felt incredibly comfortable with each other.

I think that our meeting with the Brown Admissions Officer on May 16th will be another opportunity for everyone to bond.

Next up though is the school board meeting where each of you will have a chance to personally thank the School Board.

People should also thank Mr. Gosney who took a lot of photos from the dinner. Each of you will have a lot of memories from the function.

    Take care.
