We are a group of ten juniors and two sophomores who are lucky to have been accepted to be members of the Ivy League Connection (ILC). The ILC gives West Contra Costa Unified School District students the opportunity to attend summer enrichment programs at Ivy League universities.
Through the ILC, the students in our group will be taking courses on either Women and Leadership, International Financial Markets and Investments, or Techniques in DNA-Based Biotechnology at Brown University in the summer of 2010.
Our participation in this program will help prepare us for the rigors of life at selective universities while making us better leaders on our campuses and in our communities.
As we prepare for this adventure, throughout our time at Brown and even after we return we’ll be sharing our experiences and our thoughts through this blog. We hope you can join us and share what we’re going through and learning. Your thoughts and comments will always be welcome and we invite you to add to this blog.

Well put, Lydia.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to hear from you but we're going to have to work with you to keep you from getting too wordy with your posts. The average reader today loses their attention when these blogs go on and on seemingly without end. :-)
Lydia,
ReplyDeleteSometimes a few words say a great deal. I am glad that you had a wonderful time. I am sure that all of you will have a lot to share when you are back on campus at Brown.
Take care.
