School

A little beeping noise sounded in my room. I woke up groggily thinking that it was 7:30 AM, at what time my roommate informed me last night she had set her alarm. I was concerned that my alarm clock must be not be working because I also set my alarm at 7:30 AM. I got up and looked at my clock. It was 7:00 AM. Shrugging my shoulders, I laid back down to rest until 7:30 AM.

At 8:00 AM I met with Selene to have breakfast. We had a refreshing walk to Verney Woolley Dinning Hall. There I discovered the best dessert and drink, chocolate milk. That milk is the best. For breakfast and lunch, I drank it for dessert.

After breakfast I went to class. My class is straight across my house which is great if I ever I am running late. I went in to a mostly filled room before the class started at 9:30 o’clock. The teacher, Kisa, was very kind and passionate about her class. We mostly played icebreaker games and I saw leadership ideas and skills presented in a different way.

The class dynamics so far are very fascinating. I love to figure out the social structures of different settings. There are many girls with strong opinions and who want to share their view. Some of which are sure they are right. Their are others who are still testing the waters to find out where they will be placed. So far, all is well. I cannot wait to have a discussion on a very controversial idea.

The reading material is fascinating though the author gives too many examples, restates ideas, and hits around the bush a little too much for my taste. I like things direct and straight to the point. However, I do like the fluidity and sentence structure that makes the paper very easy to read.

The classes are very long and we had another activity from 6:50 PM to 9 PM. From the end of class at 3:30 I did laundry, ate dinner, and read over half of what we needed to read. It was still a tight squeeze.

All is well besides the fact that it is so late. I will have to either stay up late to finish my homework or wake up a little earlier. I was interrupted by some people who wanted to party and I spent some time trying to persuade them that I must do homework and was later surrounded by great conversations.

Even though it is summer and I would never do summer school, I look forward to another day of school here.
